Holiday Gift Giveaway: “The Christmas Story House” Tickets [Cleveland, OH]

I know you have ALL heard of this movie…. perhaps you are a CRAZY fan like myself.. or perhaps you can’t stand the 24 hour marathon… but either way, I am confident that you are aware of the tradition that is “A Christmas Story”.

Movie Synopsis

“Ralphie Parker, a young boy living in 1940s Indiana, desperately yearning for a Red Rider BB gun for Christmas. Despite protests from his mother that he’ll shoot his eye out, Ralphie persists, unsuccessfully trying to enlist the assistance of both his teacher and Santa Claus. All the while, Ralphie finds himself dealing with the constant taunts of a pair of bullies and trying to not get in the middle of a feud between his mother and father  regarding a sexy lamp.”

In case you guys weren’t aware, a portion of this movie was filmed here in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2004,  a huge fan of the movie found an Ebay ad for the duplex that had be used in 1983 as Ralphie’s House. See the original Ebay ad . The house was renovated to resemble the original design of the house and in 2005, it opened for tours. Actors from the movie quickly jumped at the opportunity to raise money for this unique memorial and to donate movie items for fans to enjoy.

So, What Did We Think?

As a HUGE fan of the movie… it was a MUST SEE for me to visit. We live just about 30 minutes away. While the location is not necessarily ideal for such a grand museum, the experience is well worth it. You literally have a free walk of the house as it was while filming. You can sit under the sink and gather around the leg lamp. There are tons of movie memorabilia that really just make you gasp.
