“RandomLine, Inc. was created in 2002 by a dad who loves to play, John Kiely. His goal is to offer products that encourage children to be creative and use their imagination. No Noise. No Batteries. Simply Imagination is RandomLine’s motto.

While sitting in New Jersey traffic during his hour commute to and from work, he had the idea to create a game based on doodling. He created a prototype of his first game called SQUIGGLE®. Kiely decided to use his12 years of consumer product & packaging development experience and expertise in industrial design to start his own company.

After attending the 2003 American International Toy Fair in New York with his new product, he established his first big customer, Wizards of the Coast. Since then, RandomLine has successfully created and launched a line of games and activity pads that can be found in over 2000 toy stores, gift shops, museums, zoos and aquariums, as well as Canada and New Zeland and Europe.

Kiely receives a lot of support from his two children who help test his products and ideas.  Besides helping with testing, his children are his inspiration.  Kiely’s wife also assists in the business as she brings over 16 years of marketing experience in the educational publishing industry.”

So, What Did We Really Think?

We had the opportunity to try out the Alphabet Squiggle game.. which was a perfect choice for us with Serenity entering Pre-K. We have been working hard on handwriting and letters and this was a fun new way for us to do that.

How to Play: This is a double sided board game that allows you to chose whether you would like to practice capital or lowercase letters. You simply roll the dice and move along the board. For any letter that you land on.. you write the letter either freehand.. or by tracing the example on the board. There are many options as to what you can do next with the letter… creative kids and turn it into a picture, write a word that starts with is, or draw an item that starts with that particular letter. The options are endless and allow you to come up with your own variations for keeping your kids excited about the game.

Overall, the idea is simple, but engaging for young kids who are not only excited about playing games, but excited about learning their letters.. and learning to read. Serenity LOVES this game.. and is really mastering her letters at record speed. We are working intently on writing her name.. and this game has really helped us with letters that are less familiar to her such as “y”.

Caeden is excited about the game too.. he loves to move the pieces for everyone.. and tries really hard to write letters… which mostly end in scribbles, but he is soooo proud of himself. I think this game will be extremely beneficial for him in the future being that it appears he is left-handed and neither Heath or myself are left-handed.

This is the PERFECT back-2-school gift for your kids!!!
