Woohooo! A new website launch has taken place.. and Country Girl, City Life was invited!

What are YooHoo & Friends?

Well, they are a super cute group of big eyed plush creatures created by Aurora World. They were designed for kids ages 5-12 years. There are more than 50 fury options including;  an owl, a lynx, and a scarlet macaw, all of which are based on endangered species. 2010 will bring in a host of new friends including a beaver, yellow tiger, Jaban rhinoceros and Japanese macque. There are Yoohoo & Friends for holiday dress-up, and they each make a unique noise when squeezed.

YooHoo & Friends also has a fun new interactive site that kids can explore for free! Your kids will learn about endangered species while having fun! You can chose pets, decorate their rooms, play games, and watch videos all while learning about the endangered species around the world.

“Toy and gift manufacturer Aurora World Inc.has launched a brand new web site for its best selling brand, YooHoo & Friends. The free, interactive virtual world at www.yoohoofriends.com  requires no activation code and is targeted to children 5 to 12 years old. At the web site, visitors can learn about real animals and their environment, play games, send e-cards, download wallpapers, calendars and coloring sheets, as well as adopt and raise YooHoo & Friends.

“We are really happy with the new web site, which is now compatible with multiple browsers. Most importantly, we developed the site to make learning about the world’s animals fun and entertaining,” says Michael Kessler, SVP of Sales. He adds, “The site is packed with quizzes and maps about animals, a ‘My Room’ section for taking care of your pet; a ‘Playground’ with animations and more than 15 games; as well as a fun zone for downloads, e-cards and keeping an eye on what’s happening with all the YooHoo & Friends.”

How did we feel about YooHoo & Friends?

We loved them. I love the big eyes.. I think they are adorable! They are soft and well put together so I don’t have to worry about the eyes falling out any small pieces. My kids think they are cute as well. My son loves the noises they make and giggles every time. My daughter has tea parties with them.. and she put her key chain on her backpack.. and is very proud of her trinket.

As far as the website goes.. she loves it! Serenity is really getting excited about interactive games from her Leapster, Wii, and now the computer. At the same time… it is hard for me to think about her playing on the internet.. but this site is secure and age appropriate.  It was really a learning experience for both of us.. she has learned so much and really have a good time playing games.. and I have had to teach her about the internet and what she can and cannot do.

I LOVE the design of the website.. I think it is completely adorable and kid friendly. The bright colors and design is amazing. I did have some trouble accessing some of the features. I am not sure if it was a website issue or a personal computer issue. I think the best addition to the website would be to make the Yoohoo & Friend plush interactive with website! Overall, I love the idea of the site is great and has the potential to be a great site for preschoolers to learn.
