Serenity has been begging for one of these since Christmas. End of Story. I mean what more of an introduction do Pillow Pets really need?
You know the commercial.. right.. I mean.. you’ve seen it a million times.
We had the opportunity to pick one of the many Pillow Pets for review, and ultimately, Serenity chose the Squeaky Dolphin! She was sooo excited to finally get a pillow pet… she asked every day until it arrived when it was coming.
Pillow Pets became famous as just another infomercial in 2003. It was created by a busy mom of two who was tired of picking up numerous stuffed animals. She was frustrated with their lack of purpose and was determined to give them a function use. Pillow Pets were born. In 2003, the collection has a mere 6 choices. In the past 7 years, the company has expanded to include a large selection of choice including a panda, a pig, a leopard, a frog, and even a unicorn!
Pillow pets are made of soft chenille fabric with exceptional stitch quality. You can clean you Pillow Pet by washing it inside a pillow case and allowing it to air dry.. this is extremely helpful for children with allergies.
So, what did we really think?
Well, as I mentioned.. Serenity was overjoyed with the idea. I am not sure if anyone else has this problem, or if my child is just weird.. but Serenity is constantly taking the pillow case off of her pillow.. and it drives me nuts! Then it gets dirty and gross and washing it doesn’t do much for the appearance of the pillow except make the cheap cotton bunch up. For me.. this was a probable alternative.
When it arrived, the first thing that I noticed was how soft the fabric was. It was luxury to lay on. It was an adorable animal to play zoo with and then at bedtime.. it instantly transformed into a pillow that did not need a case. Of course, I had to put the washability to the test.. so the next day, I tossed it in the washer as the direction described. It held shape and didn’t shrink and become lumpy which. I did put it in front of a fan to dry to speed up the process… the kids were bugging to have it back!
I think the best part of the Pillow Pet is the velcro protector. There is a little piece of fabric over velcro when the pillow is flat so that it cannot stick to anything else in the house. Genius!
Overall, I can’t believe that I didn’t buy these for the kids sooner. Now, I have to place an order for Caeden.. he really like the turtle!

one day i would love to actually win one ofthese pillow pets. I’ve joined every single one I could find, but so far my luck has been rotten. I’m sure my niece and nephew would love it though…
Though, my ever questioning niece might be puzzled when her favorite stuffed toy disappears and a blanket emerges.
