Build-A-Bear Workshop Party Review

Build-A-Bear Workshop has graciously sponsored and in store party for Serenity and 9 of  her friends!! So, on the big day, we packed everyone up and headed out for some great birthday fun!!

Build-A-Bear offers multiple party package choices. depending on your location.  You can book your party online!!  You can also modify, confirm, change, and cancel details to your party right on the Build-A-Bear website. Once you set up your party, you will receive email confirmation of your event and a few days prior to the big event, you will receive a call from the store that is hosting your site. The staff was super nice in confirming the details of our package. We had the “Ultimate Party Animal” package reserved for us. This package includes:

• ANY make-your-own stuffed animal
• PLUS any hanging outfit or 2 separates
• AND shoes

Our party began very shortly after noon.. we only had 7 of the 10 kids make it, but Serenity was definitely excited for those that were there. We had to fantastic party hosts who began by explaining to the kids the rules of the party. Then, they all lined up and headed for the first station. They gave the kids a time limit for choosing their animal . It was all MASS CHAOS as 7 kids 4 and under ran back and forth trying to decide from the dozens of animals. Eventually, they all came to a decision and we began the stuffing process. All of the children got the chance to pick 2 hearts from the container. They kissed them, rubbed them on their bellies, elbows, and toes.. and then they each put one into Serenity’s bear and then one into their own. They took turns stuffing their bears while the remaining kids played games. They really loved the “Duck, duck, goose”.. in fact, Serenity says that was her favorite part.

After they were all stuffed, the kids were able to name their animals and the store graciously took care of the birth certificate process for us. Back to MAD CHAOS as the kids were able to chose their outfits and shoes for their animals. It was fun to see each of their personalities shine in not only the animal they chose, but the outfits they picked as well. As the party came to a close, the kids packed up their bears in their signature boxes and gathered for a group photo in the front of the store. Then, they rang a big bell to get the attention of everyone in the store as they sang the Build-A-Bear version of Happy Birthday to Miss Serenity.. who mind you was very embarrassed.  The kids also received Build-A-Bear coloring books and Serenity received a special bear signed by all of her friends.

Our party process took about 1 hour and 10 minutes. It was a whirlwind of events.. but the girls kept the kids entertained and into the process. For us, the hardest part was stuffing the bears because that is time consuming. Going into the event, I was a little nervous that the hostess would not really be any good with kids making the process long and difficult, but it was the complete opposite!! We had a great party.. and in my opinion this is one of the best places for a party. Now our store did not have a party room, so we only had the build portion there. We took the rest of the party back to our place.
