Creativity for Kids Review & Giveaway

I try to incorporate our art projects around events that we have going on to help incorporate a learning experience. I actually received this project for review several weeks ago.. but I have been saving it for closer to our annual trip to the beach. Unfortunately, because of my every other weekend work schedule and Serenity’s birthday our trip has been pushed back until this weekend, but no worries because I know this project will have the kids reminiscing while we are relaxing with our toes in the sand :)

So, what did we really think?

I thought the kit was bright and adorable. It gave us all the supplies that we needed to create adorable shell creatures. The kids were so eager that they ripped the box open days before I had planned to work on the project!

We had lots of fun talking about the different kinds of shells.. and of course Serenity wanted to know more about them.. so we Googled them. She hopes to find some of them at the beach this weekend. She also spent A LOT of time trying to decide which shell would be best for each animal.. and especially loved the googly eyes!

My only suggestion is to test out different paint options. Acrylic paint WILL STAIN anything it touches! The kids of course could resist wiping their fingers on stuff other than the rags I had for them.. and at one point I had a blotch of yellow paint on my floor. We quickly got rid of that and stuck with the other supplies.

Interestingly enough, this company is based here in Cleveland just minutes from our house! The have tons of craft kits are many of our local stores.. and all over the US.  You are sure to find something great for your kids!!!
