PillowSewCute “Ouch Pouch” Giveaway

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Etsy. I love working with sellers of truly great handmade products. I was super excited to come across Karen at PillowSewCute a few weeks ago as I was browsing for sellers who create products related to nurses week.

The “Ouch Pouch” is a genius little pouch that allows moms to keep all of their basic first aid items in one place, and is  perfect for on-the-go!

About the “Ouch Pouch”

I have had the crafting bug for the last 15 years, first creating whimsical seasonal pillows for local craft shows (and also selling the patterns) in my spare time, after work. This past June, the beautiful garden/decor store I worked for closed it’s doors… so I knew I had to create something really different and unique that moms needed all year round to help supplement my income. The vision of the Ouch Pouch came to me in a dream, waking me at 3am. I knew I had to get busy.

When my children were small, I was always frantic and in need of quick first aid to clean up their scrapes and cuts while out and about. I wish I’d thought of this back then!

This small pouch can fit in the smallest of places..in a glove compartment, diaper bag, stroller, desk …. First Aid essentials in one compact spot with a visible see-through front pocket view.

I replaced my pillows and patterns with the Ouch Pouch selection to my Etsy shop, have been getting wonderful reviews, features on Mom Blogs, and magazine articles! I am in the process of getting my Trademark and Patent.  I have over 70 fabric designs to choose from, all designer style including both ‘mom fashionista’ and ‘kid friendly’.

The “Ouch Pouch” can be used to hold a variety of things including; pacifiers, Orajel, snacks, medicine, any travel size products, on-the-go wipes, tweezers, nail clippers, contact cases… the possibilities are limitless!

PillowSweCute also offers the original “Ouch Pouch” in a larger size that fits school medications, and a size for epi pens.

And ladies… you MUST request a “Bitch Bag”.. for store your feminine products, makeup, Tide To-Go pens, travel toothbrush, mints/gum, medicine… and just about every other night out must-have! I think these are a great idea for bachloerette parties or a best friends birthday.

So, what did we really think?

Well, I fell in love with the idea way before we had even worked out the details of this review. I had the hardest time making a choice of fabrics.. and I wanted sooo many of them. Be aware that you can purchase the “Ouch Pouch” empty or prefilled with first aid materials.. both options are budget friendly. The items included in the “Ouch Pouch” vary, but in my opinion, adding the lollipop was genius!

PillowSewCute offers over 70 fabric choices, but you literally have to look through every page to see these different styles. My suggestion to remedy this would be to add an additional photo to the listing with a mini selection of the available fabrics.. this way, it is easier for the buyer to see the design choices available.

We chose the pink and black zebra option shown in the photos. It looks adorable in my purse, and I had it sitting out on my stroller at the park. It is very fashionable. Also, I found that you can tuck a few dollars and your drivers license inside the pouch and you don’t have to take your entire purse to the park which limits the amount of stuff that you need to keep track of. Overall, I think this was a success of an idea and I will be making purchases for all of my friends!
