“Hi! My name is Tammy Matthews, a.k.a. “Bizzimom”. I’m your typical busy mom, married with three children and live in upstate New York. In addition to my workload here at Bizzimom Planners, I’ve been working part-time as an R.N. to help cover some of my costs. So how did an ordinary mom with no formal business background venture into the business world?

Simply put, I became increasingly frustrated with the previous day planners and other mom organizers that were out there. Although some of them did have some pretty neat features, they lacked the practical space and function that I so desperately needed.

As my three children have grown, so have their ever-changing schedules and activities. I realized that the schedule of a busy mom was anything but 9 to 5. Running out of space on my daily calendar, missing appointments and practices started to become a stressor.

Frequently I found myself wandering around the calendar/ planner and organizer sections of many stores, on a mission to find the “ideal
planner”. Many of you moms out there can probably relate to the multi-planner juggle, the wall calendars, the pocket calendars etc…

In 2004 , a “light bulb” moment happened one day while sipping my coffee. Within a year I designed a prototype of what I considered to be the ideal “mom’s planner”.

So, What Did I Really Think?

I am really in love with this planner. I have been searching for a planner that has large sections to write, but fits easily inside my purse and this is the first planner that fits my personal needs. I chose to review a 2010-2011 academic planner with a picture window so that I can keep my kids close to me even when I am on the go. This planner runs from August 2010 to August 2011 which covers fall, spring, and summer semester for me! It is perfectly spiral bound which makes it easy to flip and write as well as view pages quickly and easily. The unique flip out month design all the view of the whole month at one time with plenty of room to write. And best of all… all of these products are printed and assembled in the USA!! I am really interested in picking up a leather cover to prolong the life of my current planner.

Overall, I really loved the planner. It has been a staple in my everyday life and I would highly recommend this to anyone currently looking for a new and innovative way to stay organized this school year.
