Seventh Generation Baby Review and Giveaway

Seventh Generation has been spent the last 20 years doing their best to educate people on the harmful chemicals that we use everyday.. right down the baby supplies we use!

So what did we really think?!
Per request, we chose to review the Seventh Generation Baby line. I have been curious about this brand for some time. I have a few friends that use the cleaning products regularly, but I was never able to commit to a switch from our routine brand, Pampers. I mean.. when it comes to diapers.. you stick to what works to prevent leaks. I was eager to give them a try.. mostly for night time. Our complete kit included: Chlorine Free Diapers, Chlorine Free Baby Wipes Tub, Chlorine Free Baby Wipes Refill Pack, Baby Laundry Detergent, All Purpose Spray, Natural Paper Towels, and a Seventh Generation Recycled Bag.
Diapers: In comparison to our routine brand, the Seventh Generation diapers were equal in absorbency, soft, and stretchy. As I mentioned, we have been Pampers costumers since Serenity was born. We had tried a few other brands including the Walmart brand, Luvs, and Huggies in an attempt to save money; but our plan always seems to backfire because we end up going back the next day for our regular diapers. Thus my hesitancy to purchase yet another new brand.
Seventh Generation diapers are made from wood pulp that is processed with chemicals containing chlorine, and because of this, the diapers themselves are a brown color versus the standard white appearance. They are always hypoallergenic, fragrance, and latex free. Overall we were satisfied with the fit and stretchiness which prevents leaks.. and the overnight wear stood the test. I was also excited to see that the everyday price had been reduced and now they are very similar in price to our Pampers so we can continue to purchase them without price concerns. They are available in sizes Newborn-6.
Wipes: Overall, I really like the Seventh Generation wipes , but I HATED the container. The wipes worked just as well as any other brand we have tried. They are soft which is great for little bums. The container on the other hand was clearly cheap. It was hard, sharp, and flimsy. The lid was very thin so when you try to make the one handed wipe pull, the entire lid comes off and it made for a longer than necessary diaper change. My suggestion would be to model them more closely other brands.. Huggies in particular has the soft flexi lid opening which prevent scratches on your fingers when trying to get wipes out! I did, however, love the travel wipes pack.. and I have purchased several for use in our diaper bag!
I had no issues with the detergent and is a great alternative to petroleum based brands. It is a low foaming solution that provides a stain fighting clean. Of course, it is non toxic and biodegradable. It is hypoallergenic and free of phosphates, brighteners. It is also fragrance free.. so absolutely no chance of anyone getting the itchies! The paper towels are made from 100% recycled paper (minimum 80% post-consumer, 20% pre-consumer) The ultimate in green cleaning!!!
