Christmas 2009
This year will indubitably go down in our family history.. oooh yes!
We started off the festivities with a holiday ballet recital at a local nursing home. I think Miss Serenity has really found her calling.. she is the cutest little ballerina and everywhere she goes people smile.
Christmas eve was a treat.. we spent the evening in the ER. The kids were bathed and getting ready for bed. You turn your back for one second and Caeden is in to things.. it’s exhausting. He pulled a jewelry box over on himself and split his chin wide open. I stared at it for a good 10 minutes trying to convince myself he didn’t need stitches.. I mean, come on.. it was Christmas eve.
After staying up for hours wrapping gifts and just a few short hours of sleep, the Christmas festivities began.
The kids took maybe 20 minutes to open their gifts.. and it took Heath and I nearly 3 hours to unpack and put everything together.. and I am not going to lie, there are still a few things not opened. The day after Christmas we had to visit the grandparents and between my dad and Heath’s the kids had a whole other Christmas morning!
We are very thankful for the all of the good things in our life this year. We are so glad for the good health of our children, the jobs we have, my graduation.. and we look forward to 2010 and all that it may bring.. *keeping our fingers crossed for our 1st home*

WOW! That is one crazy, wild Christmas! I hope your son is healing nicely. How sweet of your daughter’s dance class (I assume it was her class and not just a solo, right?) to perform for the elderly. What a wonderful gift! My mom’s group sings Christmas carols for the elderly every holiday season. It’s so important to remember these often overlooked and forgotten people.
And if you still have unopened gifts, my running partner saves a few presents for her children when they take down the Christmas tree. I thought that was a wonderful tradition, because taking down the tree can be so depressing. Just thought I would pass the idea along to you! :-)
