So, I am going to be real here.. I havent been to the dentist in  about 6 years! Yes, 6 years! In my defense, if you don’t have dental insurance the cost of just a single cleaning can reach around $200 and it needs to be paid out of pocket, and unfortunately, there have just been other things more important.

Finally a few weeks ago, our dental insurance cards came! Wooot!

A few days later, the kids went in and had their teeth cleaned, examined, and x-rayed. It didn’t cost me a penny! I went ahead and made my appointment. I spent 3 hours being x rayed and sitting in the waiting room. Then, they come in and tell me that I have stage 1 gingivitis and have to pay $185 to have the cleaning down. They refused to do a standard cleaning, one that my insurance covers, until I have this precedure done.  Fine. I made the appointment and the first $62 payment. Well, in the meantime, things have come up and other things need to be paid. I called to reschedule and they have nothing available until March. So, I cancelled without rescheduling. And they refuse to refund me! I am livid.

The lectured me about the importance of having this done and they wont take me for 5 months. I can go to another dentist and that is what they don’t want. And to be perfectly honest, I dont really believe their diagnosis. I dont have any of the symptoms. I have no bleeding gums, sensitivity, soreness, and no cavities or plaque build-up. I brush and floss daily. They just want my money and that angers me. I will be calling back tomorrow to try to get my money back.. again.
