SafetyTat Review & Giveaway

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

  • Did you know that each day more than 2,000 kids are separated from their families?!
  • Did you know that is most often occurs in commonly visited places including the playground, mall, and amusement parks?!
  • Did you know that 90% of families will experience losing a child in a public place?!

Did you know that you have OPTIONS?

SafetyTat, the temporary child ID tattoo, was created by Michele Welsh and her husband, after a family trip to an amusement park. She reminded all of her children of the importance of staying together, but still felt nervous and overwhelmed. As a quick precaution, she jotted the her cell phone number on the forearm of each of her children. After having to do this several more times throughout the day due to water and sweat smearing. Of course all the other moms thought her idea was ingenious despite the minor flaws… and so the idea for SafetyTat was born!

SafetyTats are more than just another “tattoo” for kids. It is a lifeline for parents in a number of situations. The line includes allergy alert tattoos,  medical tats ,and even special needs tattoos! You can also pick up fun Tat Kisses for fun times! The original SafetyTat requires that you use water to apply, but these are printed with your desired information. The new Quick Stick Write On tattoos allow you to use them at any time… even in the ticket line when water isn’t available. You simply peel and stick!! (Try to avoid hairy spots and dirty spots) These tattoos are are waterproof and can last up to 2 weeks! Wow!!

So what did we really think?

Well, just like every other mom in the world.. I am kicking myself for not thinking of this idea myself. It has been my greatest fear.. the thought of losing my kids in a public place. I will admit that I have experienced the few seconds of panic when you turn around to realize your 3 year old is  no longer standing next to you.. only to turn back around and have them right in your face!! As a mom of 2, this is my new favorite product! I wish I would have though to bring this with me a few weeks ago when we went to the water park!!!

We were lucky enough to receive a pack of the Quick Stick On SafetyTats to try out. Serenity loves tattoos and thought this was a fun little activity. We talked about why we stay near mom and dad whenever we go out. We also talked about her and Caeden always needing to stay together. She is a very proud big sister and does her best to make sure he stays safe.

I first put the tattoo on Serenity. We cleansed her skin with the included alcohol prep. We peeled and stuck the tattoo. We practiced counting to 20 and then removed the backing to reveal the tattoo. I jotted down a number and we were all set to go… or so I thought. Serenity insisted that I needed one too.. in case I got lost. So.. I let her do it. It is soooo easy to do.. a 3 year old can do it.. really! She had a blast!
